    About This Role

    This position is located at Woodsedge facility in Bemidji, MN. We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Interdisciplinary Long-Term Care (LTC) team in Scenic northern Minnesota.

    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of a physical therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant will assist patients with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan to enhance their quality of life and daily functioning abilities. The role involves providing, monitoring, and recording therapy services to patients with various impairments, aligning with industry-standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Selects, implements, and modifies therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with demonstrated competency levels, patient goals, and practice setting requirements.
    • Contributes to the process by exchanging information with and providing documentation to the physical therapist about patient responses and communications during intervention.
    • Fosters collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
    • Maintains knowledge of clinical practice guidelines from professional organizations.

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you must:

    • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Be physically capable to assist with patient transfers, activities of daily living (ADLs), and gait training.
    • Possess licensure as a physical therapist assistant in the state of Minnesota.
    • Be affiliated with the American Physical Therapy Association through registration, certification, and/or membership.
    • Hold certification in basic life support (CPR).
