The Data Analyst within Audit and Assurance Services plays a crucial role in supporting our internal audit and credit assurance teams through innovative and advanced data analytics.
You will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, contributing significantly to our continuous monitoring and audit and assurance efficiency initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Assurance Support:
Perform thorough analysis of financial and operational data to uncover patterns, discrepancies, and anomalies.
Utilize these insights to support audit planning and execution, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal audits and credit assurance reviews.
Develop and present clear, concise reports to aid in decision-making processes.Continuous Monitoring:
Implement and maintain continuous monitoring techniques to proactively identify risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Technology Utilization:
Leverage data analytics tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI, UIPath) to analyze large datasets and automate processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with audit and assurance teams and other departments to understand data needs and provide actionable insights.
Innovation:
Continually explore new technologies and methodologies to advance the capabilities of the assurance analytics function.
Training and Development:
Keep abreast of industry best practices in audit analytics and participate in professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
1 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the financial services industry.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (SQL, Python, R).
Strong understanding of financial and operational processes within a banking or financial services environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
CIA, CISA, CPA, or related certification is a plus.
