    The Assistant Director of Development is a new position at BWS and an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to contribute to the school's impactful mission while advancing their career.

    This role involves managing a portfolio of approximately 100 prospects and donors and coordinating our annual giving operations.

    The position will play a vital role in helping the school achieve its annual fundraising goal of $4,000,000 and help in the development of our endowment campaign.

    The Assistant Director – Major Gifts & Annual Giving is responsible for the following:


    Individual Giving:
    Manage a personal portfolio of approximately 100 donors and prospects capable of making annual gifts of $10,000 to $100,000.
    Develop and implement strategies for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to ensure a robust pipeline of support.

    Cultivate strong and meaningful relationships with donors and prospects understanding their philanthropic interests and aligning them with the organization's initiatives.

    Design and implement, in partnership with the Director of Development, a creative and segmented stewardship program to strengthen and build long-term relationships with constituents including the Board, first-time donors, leadership donors and planned giving supporters.


    Annual Giving:


    Collaborate with marketing & communications colleagues to write, design, and create materials to support annual giving efforts, including direct mail and email appeals, impact reports, the annual report, website content and social media posts.

    Oversee all aspects of Bishop Walker School's annual giving with an expectation to be data driven and responsive throughout the year if corrective actions are needed to meet goals.

    Improve donor retention and contribute to the building of a robust pipeline of annual giving prospects.

    Work with the Development staff to prepare and execute strategies to move donors seamlessly along the donor-to-major-donor continuum in ways that prioritize donor relationships and support long-term loyalty.


    Stewardship:
    Partner with Communications and Marketing colleagues to develop and coordinate production of Annual Report and other Development publications.

    Actively engage in planning and execution of Annual Dinner, receptions throughout the year, and speaking engagements at local churches and partner organizations.

    Serve as an ambassador for Bishop Walker School representing the school at internal and external events as needed.

    Ensure proper acknowledgment and stewardship of donors, providing regular updates on the impact of their contributions and maintaining ongoing engagement.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Strong Relationship Building:
    Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and build relationships with donors, prospects, colleagues and stakeholders.

    Team Collaboration:
    Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, contributing ideas and supporting overall fundraising goals.

    Organizational Skills:
    Strong organizational skills to manage multiple donor relationships and tasks simultaneously.

    Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpretation, and data analysis with the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.

    Not required, but preferred:


    Experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations in a nonprofit setting, with a proven track record of successful donor ultivation and solicitation.


    Portfolio Management:
    Experience managing a portfolio of donors, including strategically moving them through the donor cycle.
    Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge (NXT and Database view)
