    About the Role

    The Advanced Heart Failure outpatient team is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (APP) to join their team, working Monday through Friday on a day shift with no weekends or call.

    About the Position

    This position is occupied by board-certified acute care nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants specifically trained and proficient in providing cardiac services under the direct supervision of Heart Failure, Transplant Cardiologists.

    The provider will function at the top of their license in the outpatient setting in collaboration with a supervising physician and other members of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include:

    • Patient visits, consultations, face-to-face and virtual clinic-based appointments.
    • Patient examinations, medication management, and laboratory/radiologic testing and interpretation.

    Position Highlights

    The APP will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care in the outpatient clinical setting.

    Provide outpatient coverage at Inova's Advanced Heart Failure Clinics at Fairfax Medical Campus with an opportunity for other practice sites.

    • A full range of heart failure treatment options, including mechanical circulatory support, implantable devices, and defibrillators.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this position, applicants must:

    • Have graduation from an accredited NP or PA program.
    • Be approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Virginia.
    • Hold current prescriptive privileges and DEA license.
    • Hold BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Provider certifications from AHA with expiration dates greater than 90 days from the start of practice.
    • Meet additional requirements specific to the role, such as certification in practice from a nationally recognized certifying body.
