    Description
    I. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary duty is to assist supervisor to meet production goals as outlined by the supervisor. May be required to assist supervisor with job assignments, conducting meetings, controlling inventory, completing inspections, etc. To coordinate the efforts of their Associate's with regard to safety, quality, productivity, planning and required tools for work. To perform a variety of skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. To adhere to and enforce the general safety plan. May be required to do other duties as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment. Ensures work is performed at a quality level consistent with Wabash National standard practice. Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head. Good attendance is critical, and coordinator is required to report all absences directly to supervisor. Must be willing and able to work overtime.

    II. QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have both written and verbal (give instructions) communication skills. High School degree or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred for this position. Good people skills required. Must have ability to learn and run required computer applications. Must possess required math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Additional requirements for the Machine Shop includes trigonometry and 2 to 3 years experience as a Machinist. Must have ability to understand and apply engineering specifications, change orders, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS). Good problem-solving skills required. Strong mechanical aptitude required. Good organizational skills preferred. Lock-out & tag-out training required. Ability to pass and maintain fork truck training required. Must be certified by the Safety Dept on Man lifts and snorkel. Must be proficient in each maintenance skill set, of their Associates.

    III. PHYSICAL DEMANDS


    • Requires minimum of eight hours of standing, bending, squatting, kneeling pushing, and pulling, with a full range of body mechanics.
    • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. Frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
    • Must be able to work in an environment requiring use of ladder or stairs, climbing in trailers, and working on platforms.
    • Must have ability to operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and manufacturing equipment, and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
