    Job Description

    Position Summary

    We are currently seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at a bustling Santa Monica Imaging Center. The ideal candidate must hold either AART or ARMRIT Certificate, CPR certification, and have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. It is crucial for the technologist to adhere to all regulatory guidelines and safety measures, maintaining professionalism and contributing to overall patient care. Additionally, the technologist will collaborate closely with teammates, processing images, ensuring accuracy, and handling approximately 35-40 patients daily alongside 2-3 other technologists.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate Tower's core values of quality, safety, teamwork, accountability, integrity, and respect in all actions
    • Perform daily warm-ups on MRI machines and ensure their proper functioning
    • Stock MRI rooms with necessary supplies for scheduled exams
    • Explain procedures to patients and address any inquiries they may have
    • Conduct MRI exams safely and in accordance with protocols
    • Prepare work areas and materials for exams
    • Ability to start IVs and maintain access
    • Knowledge of contrast limitations and exceptions
    • Consistent use of patient identifiers
    • Meet regulatory requirements and adhere to training, attendance, punctuality, uniform, and confidentiality standards
    • Maintain utmost confidentiality in handling sensitive information
    • Ensure patient dignity is respected

    • Utilize critical thinking skills for document review and interpretation
    • Meet time and attendance requirements and manage workload efficiently

    Other Duties

    • Attend meetings and training sessions as required

    Requirements

    • Education - Completion of ACR-approved Radiologic Technology program
    • Work Experience - Minimum 3 years as an MRI technologist
    • Certifications and Licensures - ARRT or ARMRIT certificate, MRI, RT (X-ray), BLS provider card, Venipuncture Certificate
    • Medical - Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy
    • Equipment - Familiarity with MRI and X-Ray equipment

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Understanding of MRI safety and bloodborne pathogens
    • Proficiency in IV access
    • Effective verbal and written communication
    • Flexibility in work schedules
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and basic computer skills

    Physical Requirements and Exposures

    • Ability to work safely around MRI machines
    • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling
    • Manual dexterity for operating equipment
    • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
    • Adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment
    • Exposure to various hazards like radiation, chemicals, and biohazard waste
    • Office and clinic environment noise level

    Additional Information

    • Availability for weekends and overtime as needed
    • Completion of continuing education credits for licensure upkeep
