    Job Duties

    The Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents is seeking Part Time RNs for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.


    Fresh graduates and nurses having experience in healthcare facility, acute care, long-term care or correction setting can apply for the position.

    Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care to adult through utilization of the nursing process in accordance with hospital policy and procedure and standards of nursing care and practice.

    The Successful applicant must work at least 40 hours a month including one weekend per month. Holidays will be required.


    Paid Shift Differential:
    1st shift weekend $5.50/hr.

    2nd shift weekdays $5.50/hr., and weekend/holidays $6.00/hr.

    3rd shift weekdays $4.00/hr., and weekend/holidays $7.00/hr.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Knowledge of basic nursing standards and fundamentals.
    • Current, Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse or license eligible; multi-state compact endorsement is accepted.
    • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical disorders and cultural needs of the psychiatric patient.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher education, work experience may substitute for education.

    • Experience as a Registered Nurse in psychiatric, healthcare facility, acute care, long-term care or correction setting preferred.
    • Bi-lingual Spanish and English highly desired.
