We are seeking a Staff Engineering Technician to join the Municipal Division team
and be part of our growing team located in Vernon Hills IL This is a non-exempt hourly position with overtime The Staff Engineering Technician will report to the Division Director or Assistant Division Director This position requires participation in various technical engineering work involving both field office support of engineering projects This is broad classification individual positions assigned to specific functional areas duties assignments may overlap depending on operational needs staffing levels Positions at this level receive routine instruction assistance new unusual situations arise It is preferred that candidate have experience in municipal work As an Engineering Technician you will utilize the company values all phases of your work You shall perform full range of duties assigned under general supervision direction timely fashion show competency following areas Proficient office operating procedures policies company Have experience assigned tasks division Prepares sketches drawings Provides support professional engineering staff Experience Microstation/GEOPAK AutoCAD Civil 3D plus Must collaborate other team members good interpersonal communication skills Must knowledge physical ability work outdoors adverse conditions Read engineering plans interpret standard drawings specifications survey notes maps reports Understand methods practices techniques instruments used within your work Work independently absence supervision Calculate grades construction quantities Engineering plan review What you bring Gewalt Hamilton Associates Inc Education High school diploma GED Associates degree preferred Experience Valid Illinois Drivers License Two four years increasingly responsible technical engineering experience comparable level comparable Engineer Tech Tech Level II Knowledge Skills Abilities Experience Microstation GEOPAK AutoCAD Civil 3D plus ADA SPECIFICATIONS Requires ability speak audibly listen actively Requires ability use computers telephones office equipment Requires sit stand extended periods time May require occasional bending lifting up pounds May periodic travel up EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT Decisions criteria governing employment relationship employees Gewalt Hamilton Associations made non discriminatory manner regard race color creed religion national origin sex marital status pregnancy disability sexual orientation gender identity veteran status age FMLA status any factor determined unlawful federal state local statutes
