    This position is part-time, 20 hours per week, grant funded for 3-years, and is year-round.

    This position will work with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Dean and Department Chair in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science, along with our Purdue counterparts, to assist with developing, coordinating, organizing, marketing, and delivering a two-week immersive high school summer program covering all counties in the READI region, which include Tippecanoe, Benton, White, Carroll, Warren, and Fountain.


    Major Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include working with the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Dean and Department Chair in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering & Applied Science, along with our Purdue counterparts, to assist with developing, coordinating, organizing, marketing, and delivering a two-week immersive high school summer program covering all counties in the READI region, which include Tippecanoe, Benton, White, Carroll, Warren, and Fountain.

    Additionally, this position will recruit students for the summer program that will occur on both institutions' campuses, exposing students to the semiconductor industry and higher education.

    The position will also be assigned specific grant-related responsibilities and duties, especially related to outreach and education with high school students about Ivy Tech's programs that support the semiconductor and microelectronics industry.

    Finally, they will coordinate with the grant Program Manager (Purdue position) on any grant-related work that needs to be completed.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Associate's degree required.

    Background or education in manufacturing or STEM-related major.
    Experience working with high school students (60 to 75 at a time).
    Hard working and dependable; ability to work on own initiative.
    Good written and oral communication skills.
    Computer literate with good Excel and Word knowledge/skills, and graphic design.
    The ability to work as a team member and work under stress.
    Be able to process information quickly.
    Demonstrate patience and diplomacy.
    Able to handle difficult situations to reach positive solutions.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM-related field.
    Interest/experience in electronics/ semiconductors preferred, but not required.
