    What we do:
    The Lead Navigation Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing navigation algorithms for our aircraft. This role will lead navigation projects from requirements and software architecture to algorithm design, implementation, tuning, and validation.

    What you can do:
    Craft the vision and define the roadmap for the navigation team's deliverables
    Collaborate in a highly multi-functional environment and work closely with avionics, flight control teams, software, simulations, and business-related teams
    Participate in navigation tasks, including system trade studies, component modeling of inertial measurement units (IMU), global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), Air Data, and Magnetometer, as well as simulation of navigation algorithms, particularly Bayesian filters
    Lead fault detection and integrity monitoring of multi-sensor fusion
    Propose and evaluate architecture concepts, perform architecture and technology trade-off analysis
    Define and validate requirements for the aircraft sensors and state estimation software, including sensors selection, voting, monitoring, fault detection, and sensor fusion
    Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and integrate complex hardware/software systems
    Contribute to architecture concepts, concept of operations, and technology trade-off analysis
    Analyze, source, and select sensor solutions for use in the navigation system
    Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
    Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
    Other duties as assigned

    What you can contribute:
    Bachelor's in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields required; Master's Degree or Ph.
    D. preferred
    Minimum ten (10) years of experience in engineering
    Minimum five (5) years of experience in sensor signal processing and sensor fusion algorithms (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
    Experience in aerospace certification
    Experience in GNSS-aided inertial navigation systems and performance analysis of navigation systems and navigation state error estimation with knowledge of optimal state estimation filters such as Kalman Filter and Extended Kalman filter (EKF)
    Experience in shipping production-quality navigation/localization systems for autonomous vehicles
    Knowledge of classical and modern navigation methodologies

    Knowledge of state estimation techniques:
    state observers, Kalman filter, nonlinear state estimation
    Experience developing and integrating state estimation algorithms for localization, calibration, mapping, or SLAM applications in robotic systems
    Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
    Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite
    You may also be able to contribute:

    Experience developing algorithms that fuse many sensor modalities preferred
    Experience developing and integrating state estimation algorithms for localization, calibration, mapping, or SLAM applications in robotic systems preferred

    Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
