    Position:
    Safety Compliance Coordinator – Fleet Maintenance

    Job Description:


    Under the direction of the Safety Department Manager, the Safety Compliance Coordinator – Fleet Maintenance is responsible for all fleet vehicle maintenance and required remediation in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policy.

    Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.

    Core Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Maintain all maintenance records in compliance with FMCSA requirements and all roadside inspections in compliance with regulations and company policy
    • Retain and record all required maintenance receipts and records in compliance with FMCSA requirements and company policy pertaining to DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports)
    • Input and upload all new IC drivers into company training site, as well as removing all terminated IC drivers from company training site
    • Assign, communicate and follow up with qualified drivers on any remediation requirements in conjunction with roadside inspections
    • Prepare driver compliance review reports for review by the Safety Review Committee
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managers
    • Communicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
    • Computer skills:
    Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systems

    • Requires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasks.
    • Must be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Work in a "Confidential Capacity"
    • Must have ability to handle heavy workload
    • Excellent writing & proof reading skills as well as superior verbal & organizational skills.
    • Goal oriented, self-managing with time & project consideration.

    Skills:

    • Ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic
    • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
    • Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
