- Assist the Director in establishing strategic goals for the Vocatio Center's employer relations and recruiting efforts. Identify needs and opportunities for growth and develop programming/services to meet needs.
- Train and supervise Vocatio Center student worker(s) to provide excellent customer service to employers seeking to recruit at Union University.
- Assist with the First Destination Survey and reporting.
- Coordinate the annual career fair and all other virtual or on-campus recruiting events and activities.
- Identify and recruit new employers and opportunities for full-time, part-time, internships, and job shadowing experiences to advertise to Union students.
- Maintain relationships and assess recruiting efforts with existing employer partnerships through regular communication and visits.
- Enlist academic departments' support in promoting employment opportunities to students.
- Manage employers and job postings on Handshake.
- Be an active member of the local business community through the Jackson Chamber.
- Research and develop a proposal for an internship program in partnership with academic departments.
- Counsel students and alumni in calling and career, and provide resume and cover letter assistance, job search assistance, career counseling, interview preparation and mock interviews, career preparation workshops, etc.

The Assistant Director will report to the Director for the Vocatio Center for Life Calling and Career.
This position is responsible for delivering career services to students and overseeing our events and programming related to employer relations, recruiting, and off-campus employment opportunities.

Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required.
Additional qualifications include excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, understanding of issues of confidentiality, and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diversity of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with a master's degree and with experience in career development, recruiting, and/or event planning.
Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University's Identity, Mission, and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life.
