    We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer Intern to join our team in the refinery industry in Wichita, KS. Responsibilities include and not limited to, updating our Mechanical Integrity Documents Program. This role is 75% drafting through CAD and 25% in the field reviewing and validating schematics and ensuring all documents are updated and accurate. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the refining industry, mechanical integrity programs, and Process Safety Management (PSM) principles.     Wage: $30hr

    Time Frame: The project time is flexible. We can start as early as April and extend out 4-6 months or summer from June to August.

    Locations: Must live in a commutable distance from Wichita, KS

    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program
    • Update Process Drawings, including P&IDs and piping ISOs, using CAD software
    • Learn about corrosion mechanisms and participate in corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities
    • Gain exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, Management of Change (MOCs), Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, and other elements of PSM
    • Take initiative and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
    • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM)

    What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors Company?

    • Currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a Bachelor of Engineering program (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for updating and modifying engineering drawings
    • Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs preferred
    • Petrochemical experience a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
    • Highly motivated and self-starter with the ability to work independently
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite – Excel, Word
    • Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verbally
    • Lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, stoop, bend, stand for prolonged periods and exposed to various weather conditions
