    Description

    TASKS

    (1) Develop and coordinate cross-Institute collaborations to support initiatives in research program; develop support for research funding and educational initiatives.

    (2) Disseminate scientific education and outreach materials developed by and/or relevant to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) mission to internal and external stakeholders.

    (3) Provide support for efforts to incorporate People with Lived Experience into NINDS activities; assist with planning and coordination of meetings with NINDS and nonprofit organizations

    (4) Identify mechanisms to support dissemination and development of guidelines through internal and external means including publication medium, professional societies and organizations, and advocacy organizations.

    (5) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of progress, trends, opportunities, policies, and current issues in basic, translational and clinical neurological sciences relevant to the NINDS portfolio

    (6) Work with director and senior leadership to enable coordination, oversight and monitoring of progress for specific initiatives and outreach efforts; identify research gaps and priorities and articulate research agendas around key research topics

    (7) Analyze program performance and metrics to identify issues and develop recommendations for improvement; draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for implementation of assorted activities, particularly focused on engagement and education of scientific and public stakeholders.

    (8) Work with senior staff to lead planning and logistics for annual meetings organized by NINDS or on behalf of trans-NIH initiatives including any scientific outreach exhibitions or activities that may be appropriate

    (9) Support programming demands related to meetings, workshops, conferences and educational activities organized on behalf of NINDS or appropriate trans-NIH initiatives

    (10) Develop and edit meeting/conference/workshop/event marketing materials including invitations, programs, agendas, and websites/online content; collaborate on the creation, preparation and dissemination strategy for materials and activities

    (11) Design and coordinate systems for communications to stakeholders that facilitates the efficient flow of information related to meeting planning, projects, initiatives, and program activities

    (12) Summarize the content of incoming materials, specially gathered information, inquiries from attendees/participants of NINDS-affiliated scientific, stakeholder and/or educational/outreach meetings/workshops/conferences

    (13) Work with staff to draft and edit scientific manuscripts, health information material, and website content; ensure documents prepared for public consumption align with requirements for plain language and 508 compliance.

    REQUIREMENTS

    (1) Master's or Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, or related discipline

    (2) Minimum of 1 year of experience with scientific education and/or outreach, which includes development and management of new programs and establishing and maintaining collaborations

    (3) Experience with overall project management including scientific summaries, reports, presentations, and workshop and conference planning
