    As a key member of the Asset Forfeiture Section at the United States Attorney's Office, you will play a crucial role in disrupting and dismantling criminal organizations by removing their tools and resources.

    About the Role

    • You will assist attorneys in reviewing case materials, including gathering and analyzing evidence, preparing summaries of legal decisions, and researching relevant laws.
    • You will draft, edit, and review non-legal documents, create correspondence, and conduct research reports.
    • You will support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, creating statistical charts, and photographing evidence.
    • You will interview witnesses, prepare summary reports, and review prepared legal documents for accuracy.
    • You will attend pre-trial meetings to identify missing information and request corrections.
    • You will prepare summaries of testimony, depositions, and investigative findings.
    • You will research public records, laws, and cases to determine causes of action and prepare cases for prosecution.
    • You will perform other duties as assigned by the team.

    Requirements:

    • A Paralegal Certificate or a High School Diploma/GED with at least two years of paralegal experience.
    • Experience with trial and automated litigation support systems is preferred.
    • The ability to understand the organization and functions of the customer is essential.
    • Knowledge of basic legal research, including standard legal citation, is required.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills, including legal writing expertise.
    • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are necessary.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, databases, and legal research tools is required.
    • A proven commitment to excellent customer service, positive attitude, and flexibility are essential.
    • The ability to work in a team environment, deliver high-quality work, and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure is critical.

    This position requires US Citizenship and a 7-year minimum background investigation.
