    Description
    Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Audit and Collections Department. This position includes the responsibility for overseeing and supporting the day-to-day operations of the department.


    Qualifications:
    BA or BS degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; and or equivalent experience

    5 or more year experience in supervising employees in a leadership role

    3-5 years of experience in audit, accounting, bookkeeping or payroll

    Prior entertainment industry or trust fund experience strongly preferred

    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

    Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

    Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Strong presentation skills

    Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

    Able to prioritize work and strong attention to detail

    Current CA driver's license and clear DMV record, requires occasional local travel within the Los Angeles area

    Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization

    Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required

    Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Oversee monitoring and tracking of payroll audits and collection files

    Provide assistance to the Sr. Manager, external auditing firms, legal counsels, and Business Agents

    Work with Sr. Manager on the implementation of department goals and objectives

    Assist Sr. Manager with the preparation of metrics and measurement reports

    Generate monthly department activity reports and report status to Sr. Manager

    Review and identify areas that require streamlining and enhancements

    Assist Sr. Manager with the review and preparation of appeals

    Prepare for meetings as backup for Sr. Manager and/or Director (i.e., presenting at Audit &Collections Committee meeting, Benefit Appeals Committee meeting, etc.)

    Provide guidance to staff on a daily basis

    Assist Sr. Manager with workshop scheduling and preparation to train staff

    Coordinate meetings with Employers as needed

    Assist with special projects when needed & complete other duties as assigned

    The anticipated base salary for this position is $30-$36 per hour.

    The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
