    Western Acute Care Surgeons is an acute care surgical group based in St. Bernadine's Medical Center, in San Bernardino, CA. We deliver high quality, compasionate care to a community that includes a disproportionate share of vulnerable patients.

    **Job Summary:**

    We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our Acute Care Surgical team. This position requires a candidate with a strong medical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients. You will be assisting a group of surgeons with daily rounds in a busy inpatient service and first assisting in the operating room.     Responsibilities:

    Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and provide accurate progess notes with diagnosis and treatment plans.

    First assist in the operating room with surgical procedures.

    Removal of sutures, staples and drains.

    Occasional bedside wound debridements, and wound closures under local anesthesia.

    Occasional staffing of post hospital care clinic.

    Manage patient follow-up care, including home care instructions.

    Utilize ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing.

    Experience:

    Previous experience working as a Physician Assistant or in a similar role for 2-3 years is preffered.

    Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning.

    Familiarity with medical Spanish is preferred.
