    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    #
    • This position will be used for staffing agency employees only.
    # Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician.

    Uses CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.

    PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    # 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2.

    *Performs all types of CT studies to include diagnostic and interventional procedures; practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.

    3. *Uses sterile technique as required. 4. *Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors. 5. *Performs venipuncture. 6. *Competently operates all CT equipment and support systems to include EPIC, PACS and teleradiography. 7. *Performs and evaluates images for technical quality. 8. Reviews patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies. 9. *Properly cares for and imaging patients of all ages; maintains patient confidentiality. 10.

    *Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.

    11. *Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy. 12. *Participates in the department#s quality improvement plan as required. 13. *Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies coordinator of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as needed. 14. *Keeps work area properly supplied. 15. Assists with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed. 16. *Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with standard operating procedures.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    # Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Current State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required.

    OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:
    # Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

    Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
