    Whatyou get to do:

    Provide technical and creative oversight and direction throughout all phases of capital development for all SEA parks, and other projects as assigned. Lead program development of new attractions and capital investments. Collaborate with project stakeholders to manage a seamless transition from the concept development phases through construction document development. Advocate for comprehensive guest experience and brand delivery. Lead the development of creative assets for the capital approval process. Maintain & advance SEA's position as a leader in the themed entertainment, amusement, water park, and animal park industries.
    • Provide oversight, technical direction, creative controls and direction, as well as facilitation of the Attraction Capital development and approval process. Collaborate closely with the VP Engineering & Project Management and VP Rides & Engineering, plus the project development teams, to support the new product development process plus the on-going support for capital projects. Lead the creative presentation requirements for the CAPEX and Board of Director approval process.
    • Approve selection of architectural & engineering external resources. Oversee & direct project design efforts and the design process including park aesthetics and creative, as well as architectural design, color, signage, theming, guest experience, and graphics, in conjunction with the overall capital development process. Adhere to project budgets & schedules through all phases of development.
    • Direct the advancement of new concepts for park attractions and innovative experiences within SEA's parks. Work closely with park and corporate teams on specialty projects (i.e., zoological, culinary, merchandise, new parks, new experiences, etc.).
    • Maintain Design & Engineering department standardized documentation, forms, and policies. Collaborate with appropriate personnel to ensure strict adherence to quality & safety parameters. Oversee engineering consultants' design work to ensure compliance with established standards. Administer the SEA Capital Project Controls and Procedures across all parks. Refine and update controls and procedures according to business needs and requirements.
    • Develop and maintain key industry relationships with architectural & engineering professionals, creative/thematic firms and associated resources, construction and project management professionals, technical project resources, specialty consultants, etc.
    • Directly manage Creative Services Project Managers Creative Development Project Manager
    Whatit takes to succeed:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or other related Engineering discipline. Master's level degree in an engineering, construction, or business field is preferred.
    • Minimum ten years combined experience in design and project management.
    • Extensive experience with attraction development projects for theme parks, or equivalent.
    • Technical & functional knowledge of the capital development and project management process.
    • Professional Engineering license.
    • Excellent communication skills - oral & written. Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to analyze complex issues & develop effective plans and strategies.
    • Ability to travel extensively, domestically and internationally.
    • Strong creative insight, and the ability to lead creatives, illustrators, designers and others for the advancement of these aspects of SEA's capital projects.
