Purpose RECEIVING CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION Receives deliveries of store products from all DSD/individual vendors and verifies invoice accuracy Ensures credits for damages and shortages Primarily responsible for operating receiving systems according to Company and Division policies Maintains strong rapport with vendors
Duties And Responsibilities Receives all DSD Direct Store Delivery deliveries and logs all deliveries—including non Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries—into the computer system Breaks down loads from DSD suppliers may transport product from receiving area into freezer or cooler Ensures cost quality and inventory control by verifying orders against invoices auditing case contents and using the electronic receiving system to verify cost Maintains invoices and reports in the established filing system per record retention guidelines Reviews accepts only proper correct orders submitted by outside sales representatives Prevents shrink damage spoilage Repairs prices damaged product if saleable discards returns damaged product to vendors as required Responsible for security sanitation organization of receiving storage loading dock areas Performs training duties Operates equipment such as manual electric pallet jacks power lifts balers compactors safety cutters scissors pricing guns telephones handheld units printers May assist with ordering stocking stacking facingconditioning pricing marking rotating dairy frozen items in absence of department clerks Inspects backroom equipment e g pallet jacks balers reports malfunctions to Store Director Follows maintains department standards requirements Trains employees in store policies sales procedures record keeping practices Identifies develops employees potential advancement Maintains working knowledge company policies guidelines outlined Employee Handbook Ensures proper code dating products within department Controls shrink cost Complies workplace safety rules regulations Ensures safety cleanliness sanitation work areas equipment Implements emergency procedures equipment software malfunctions Complies company grooming standards dress code Performs necessary duties
