    Description

    The Imaging Patient Transporter is primarily responsible for transporting patients from one area of the hospital to another and assisting imaging personnel with routine tasks of patient care which are learned on the job.

    The job requires serving as a lift team primarily for Imaging staff and other hospital personnel. This position can involve performing chest compression during a code blue and assisting in crisis prevention interaction of patients. The Imaging Patient Transporter is required to complete the department orientation program with CPI and CPR certification.

    The position supports the goals and functions of the organization and performs his duties within established ethical, legal, and organizational standards.

    The Imaging Patient Transporter promotes a stable relaxed working atmosphere among fellow employees through congeniality, consideration, and efficiency.

    Also, the Imaging Patient Transporter demonstrates the ability to be self-directed during slow periods to assist in the following ways.

    Assisting with transporting patient's records, and equipment to designated areas throughout the hospital.

    Basic computer knowledge may be utilized to retrieve clinical reports for medical staff and assist visitors with the location of patients.

    Assisting in housekeeping duties and responsibilities as needed.

    High School Diploma or GED

    Licenses & Certifications


    • Healthcare Provider (CPR)
    Qualifications


    • Ability to be a self-starter.
    • Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy.
    • Ability to set priorities.
    • Basic computer knowledge. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the keyboard, function keys, use of a mouse, and ability to access/maneuver icons to activate and close Windows programs.
    • CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire.
    • Must be able to deal with people who demonstrate difficult and irrational behavior.
    • Must be able to identify and deal with situations appropriately.
    • Must be able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
    • Must be emotionally mature and stable.
    • Must confidently convey empathy and compassion.
    • Must exhibit a warm, friendly, and caring professional demeanor. Must have the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees, other team members, and medical staff.
    • Must know and respect job limitations.
    • On-the-job training up to 3 months to achieve proficiency.
    • Presents clean, neat, professional appearance per the departmental and THS Dress Code Policy.
    • Required to work holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts.
    • Satisfactory completion of the orientation (90 days) period, including written material and on-the-job training.
    • The employee must be able to demonstrate consistent achievement of major/function performance standards and specific competencies. Maintains competency based on performance standards.
