- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; OR two (2) to three (3) years relevant experience.
- At least one (1) year of experience working with youth or vulnerable populations preferred.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required to be insurable under The PLACE's auto policy.
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, positive youth development, and housing-first principles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Must be computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Requires the ability to use department equipment, such as telephones, personal computers, adding machines, copiers, fax machines, etc. Position requires frequent use of computers and phones

ABOUT THE PLACE
The PLACE is the only nonprofit in the Pikes Peak region solely dedicated to supporting youth ages 15-24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Guided by our mission to ignite the potential in youth to create self-determined, fulfilled lives, The PLACE provides street outreach, a drop-in center, and supportive housing grounded in trust, consistency, and long-term stability.

The Housing Case Manager provides trauma-informed, youth-centered support to young people transitioning into or maintaining housing. Housing Case Managers will work to form supportive relationships and walk alongside clients as they develop the skills to maintain housing and live independently. Housing Case Managers may assist in any of The Place's housing programs including Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Rehousing or Transitional Living.
Housing Case Managers collaborate with landlords, community partners, and other staff to ensure youth are supported in safe, stable living environments.
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. However, schedules may have to be adjusted to accommodate client needs.
JOB DUTIES
The duties of this position are performed personally, in cooperation with your supervisor, and/or in coordination with other staff.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Employees in this position may be subject to long hours on their feet in an office, outdoor, and other environments that may frequently include physical conditions such as inclement weather or temperature extremes, sharps, drugs and paraphernalia, and interpersonal contact from non-employees that include sexual innuendo and raw, abusive or threatening language. Employees must be comfortable providing safer sex supplies and bleach kits to youth. The PLACE provides personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety training to prepare and protect The PLACE employees in these uncontrolled environments. Compliance with safety protocol is required, which may include the use of PPE, involvement of law enforcement, and/or enactment of emergency protocols, detailed in The PLACE's Emergency Operations Plan.
This role requires regular use of a personal vehicle to meet with clients at their residences, attend appointments, and transport clients as needed.
