Job summary
This position performs preventative maintenance and servicing on vehicles and equipment including shop and field repairs dismount and mount automotive truck and heavy equipment tires conduct Texas State Vehicle InspectionsResponsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles or equipment in the shop or in the field as assigned.
- Involves: Perform Texas State vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Inspect incoming vehicles and equipment for defects worn or broken parts or safety issues and log defects mileage and work performed on work order
- Check fluid levels and air in tires lubricate moving parts change coolant oil fluids filters perform other minor repairs such as brakes tune-ups water pumps alternators assist mechanics with major repairs perform repairs on other equipment as assigned refuel vehicles monitor tank pressures flow rates to ensure proper refueling steam clean engines radiators condensers maintain accurate records of work performed maintain cleanliness of shop work area tools ensure compliance with established preventative maintenance schedules standards perform emergency repairs on various types of vehicles in the field
