- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that goals and objectives are tailored to their unique strengths and challenges.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and acmodations to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote academic and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and munication with parents and stakeholders.
- Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and a love of learning among students with special needs.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field (required)
- Wisconsin DPI certification in Special Education (required)
- Experience working with middle school students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices, including the IEP process
- Strong munication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs.
