Description of Duties
This position is located in the Cardiopulmonary Unit of Monroe Community Hospital. Responsibilities include assisting respiratory staff with routine medical procedures, maintaining related hospital equipment and performing clerical duties. The duties are performed under licensed and credentialed respiratory staff.
The employee must be able to move heavy items such as supplies and equipment and work in an environment with exposure to odors, fumes, infections, and fluctuating room temperatures.
The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision from the Cardiopulmonary Services Manager. Does related work as requiredMinimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus
EITHER:
(A) One (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent experience working in a hospital, acute care facility or home care company assisting respiratory staff with administering treatments or procedures such as respiratory therapy treatments, electrocardiograms (EKG's), Holter Monitoring, and Pacemaker checks OR maintaining respiratory equipment; OR,
(B)
Successful completion of at least 6 semester college credit hours in Respiratory Therapy from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university:
OR,
(C) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
