    Job Description SummaryResponsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and management of the day to day operations of the HIM department including Medical Records, Release of Information, and Transcription.

    Serves as a resource person for the Medical Staff and for hospital personnel in matters relating to Accreditation, for state and federal laws, for confidentiality issues, and for reimbursement guidelines.


    Job DescriptionQUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelors degree in Medical Information Management or Business Related Field Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Direct support experience for a Digital Medical Record system to include Workflow Development and Design Minimum five years' experience with supporting or managing a Health Information Management department Experience within or directly with a Health Information (Medical Records) hospital department Certification as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Administrator (RHIA)LANGUAGE/


    COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
    Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


    Strong understanding of Medical TerminologySKILLS:


    Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows Operating System Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Direct support experience for a Digital Medical Record system to include Workflow Development and Design ICD-10-CM and CPT coding knowledge.
