    This position is based at Vick Elementary.

    Terms of Employment: Permanent, 10 Month Position

    Nature of Work:

    The Behavior Support Specialist will provide extended classroom support and follow up for students who have received services through the Guidance Department or who have been recommended for services by administration or the MTSS team individually or in the CHOICES setting. The Behavior Support Specialist will monitor and model evidence/research based behavior strategies which support Individual Behavior Plans, Conscious Discipline techniques, and other strategies as recommended by the MTSS team, counselor, or administer. He/she will also serve as the liaison for the Vick Gentlemen's Agreement Program.

    Qualifications and Licensure:

    • High School Diploma and an Associate's Degree
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct support to students by teaching and modeling research/evidence based interventions and curriculum.
    • Coordinate with the counselor, MTSS team and administrators to implement behavior curriculum.
    • Coordinate with the MTSS team to develop effective intervention plans.
    • Serve as the Gentlemen's Agreement Liaison at Vick Elementary.
    • Monitor student's attendance and suspension data.
    • Oversee the CHOICES program at Vick Elementary.
    Evaluation:

    Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the WCS Board of Education policy on evaluation of personnel.
