- Ensure referrals ordered for multiple locations are processed the same day to next day
- Arrange & coordinate appointments for patient's outside our offices
- Scheduling patients with our internal specialists for Neurosurgery, Rheumatology, Behavioral Health, Addictionology & Pain Management when ordered
- Reviewing referral diagnosis codes & CPT codes as we process the referral
- Collecting pertaining documentation for each referral and working closely with our providers, patients, & outside care providers
- Weekly reports tracking outgoing referrals, home health referrals, & SCS
- Following up in a timely manner on phone notes, referral status updates, voice mails, & emails pertaining to outgoing referrals
- Collaborates with NSG coordinator, scheduling, & pre-authorizing teams regarding procedures, office visits, home health & insurance
- Import vital documents into patient's charts pertaining to referrals, procedures, & home health
- Has regular and predictable attendance.
- Adheres to Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prior clinical, medical or marketing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology desired
- Great customer service skills
- Organization & time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of how a healthcare organization operates
- Ability to comprehend speech and effectively communicate with others
- Must understand, follow, and convey written and oral instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

JOB SUMMARY:
The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating & processing referrals as requested by our providers for patients that are in need of internal & external consults, working closely with the clinical staff, outside care providers and our patients getting them scheduled and seen appropriately.
