    JOB SUMMARY:


    The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating & processing referrals as requested by our providers for patients that are in need of internal & external consults, working closely with the clinical staff, outside care providers and our patients getting them scheduled and seen appropriately.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    • Ensure referrals ordered for multiple locations are processed the same day to next day
    • Arrange & coordinate appointments for patient's outside our offices
    • Scheduling patients with our internal specialists for Neurosurgery, Rheumatology, Behavioral Health, Addictionology & Pain Management when ordered
    • Reviewing referral diagnosis codes & CPT codes as we process the referral
    • Collecting pertaining documentation for each referral and working closely with our providers, patients, & outside care providers
    • Weekly reports tracking outgoing referrals, home health referrals, & SCS
    • Following up in a timely manner on phone notes, referral status updates, voice mails, & emails pertaining to outgoing referrals
    • Collaborates with NSG coordinator, scheduling, & pre-authorizing teams regarding procedures, office visits, home health & insurance
    • Import vital documents into patient's charts pertaining to referrals, procedures, & home health
    • Has regular and predictable attendance.
    • Adheres to Advanced Pain Care policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Requirements


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    • Prior clinical, medical or marketing experience
    • Knowledge of medical terminology desired
    • Great customer service skills
    • Organization & time-management skills

    • Basic knowledge of how a healthcare organization operates
    • Ability to comprehend speech and effectively communicate with others
    • Must understand, follow, and convey written and oral instructions
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships

    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

    Physical Conditions:


    • Generally works normal office hours but may sometimes work evenings or weekends
    • Works in the field and from home office
    • Must be able to drive to a variety of locations to conduct work
    • Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
    • Must be able to bend, stoop and stretch
    • Must be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 25 pounds.
    • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.
    Salary Description

    $17.00-$22.00/ hour
