This position joins Oregon Health Authority's statewide AmeriCorps VISTA team.In addition to regular activities at your host site, OHSU, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team meetings, and support from VISTA team leaders and project director.

Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs (OCCYSHN) is Oregon's Title V Public Health Agency dedicated to children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). OCCYSHN improves the health, development, and well-being of Oregon's CYSHCN. OCCYSHN provides subject matter expertise, data, and provider and family perspectives to policymakers and administrators, Local Public Health Agencies, and other stakeholders, and manages programs such as Health Emergency Ready Oregon (HERO) Kids Registry. HERO Kids Registry is a voluntary, no-cost, secure system that lets families and young adults record critical health details that first responders and hospital emergency department providers can quickly and easily access in an emergency. For emergency medical providers faced with split-second decisions, HERO Kids Registry can help fill the information gap. OCCYSHN is located at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Member Duties :
The member will increase HERO Kids registrations through improving educational outreach.
You will 1.Identify gaps in educational outreach 2.Develop an outreach plan to inform families, providers, and stakeholders throughout the state 3.Develop educational resources such as online learning, social media templates, etc 4.Create structure for sustainability by developing resources such as educational outreach schedule, email lists by organization/sector, contact list for stakeholder organizations, researching additional funding streams Applicant should have experience w/MS Office, ZOOM, project planning, training/education skills, and presentation skills.
Bilingual preferred. Bachelor's degree w/public health focus preferred. Applicants should be independent, motivated, reliable, with strong writing and intercultural communication skills.AmeriCorps VISTA members serve Oregonians through indirect service and capacity building; the work you will do is the behind-the-scenes work.
