    Description

    The shipping & receiving worker will be responsible for verifying incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare and arrange materials for transportation and shipment in an accurate and safety manner.This position will be assembling, addressing, unpacking, verifying, recording incoming merchandise/ material and shipping merchandise onsite or transporting to outside locations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, packing slips, or purchase orders, to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Prepare documents, such as bills of lading, to route materials.
    • Review customer POs and set up shipping requirements.
    • Maintain color coded system (Red, Yellow, and Green) per QC Manual for all materials received.
    • Documents, records, and tracks incoming material and paperwork for disposition.
    • Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck or forklift.
    • Process and record material to be returned; obtain paperwork from AP Clerk for returns.
    • Assists in packaging of outgoing products or equipment.
    • Assists in loading outgoing products or equipment.
    • Loads scrap truck(s).
    • Makes deliveries and pick-ups of "Non-Class A Loads".
    • Working knowledge of forklifts
    • Other job-related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Requirements, and Experience

    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods is preferred.
    • Effectively communicate with all shops as well as the QC department.
    • Ability to read, understand and communicate information presented on work related documents.
    • Use a computer efficiently to track incoming and outgoing loads.
    • Forklift and overhead crane operating knowledge.
    • Class C Drivers License with clean driver record.
    • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Able to work well under minimal supervison
    • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude

    You should be proficient in:

    • Quality Inspection Experience
    • Forklift Licensed
    • Packaging Experience
    • High School / GED
    • Excellent Communication Skills
    • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
    • Basic Computer Skills

    Salary info:

    $20 - $23 / hr
