    Summary of position:

    We are looking for a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic Receptionist Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate is someone that is passionate about working in a care team model with a personal responsibility of providing care for our orthopaedics patients and clinical support to the team. The right candidate will be able to provide an exceptional patient care experience that promotes healing and recovery, and having an attention to detail mindset while being caring and compassionate.

    What you'll do:

    DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
    • Greets customers in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner. Provides any necessary instruction/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of customers arrival.
    • Verbally informs patient of wait time.
    • Updates patient information (such as insurance cards, drivers license, authorizations, and referrals), provides any necessary forms needing completion, and obtains signatures as necessary.
    • Administers appropriate forms needing completion and obtains signatures as necessary. This may include, but not limited to, the following:
      • Privacy policies
      • Financial policies
    • Collects co-payments, deductibles and outstanding balances such as out-of-pocket expenses - utilizing eligibility and phone report.
    • Refers patients to Financial Counselor for payment agreements, or detailed explanations of benefits.
    • Answers phones in a pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously.
    • Schedules follow-up appointments, as required, and attach referral requests.
    • Enters charges into computer system.
    • Assembles new patient charts for next day clinic.
    • Balance daily collections with time of service payment summary report, and prepares deposit slip.
      • If on early shift, employee must lock collection bag in safe at the end of his/her shift.
    • Daily: Carries out appropriate actions related to hold and practice buckets.
    • Accepts delivers, enters in to log, and notifies appropriate party. Directs package, as requested, to the appropriate party documenting date and location sent.
    What you'll need:
    • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must have at least one-year work experience in a clinical setting, or equivalent experience in a customer service role.
    • Must have exceptional customer service skills. Familiarity with insurance benefits is a plus. Must be computer literate, with basic knowledge of MS office products, and general office machines such as fax, copier, etc..
    • Must have the ability to mutli-task, work in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrate team cooperation..
    • Other duties to be assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company.
    • Requires prolonged sitting, stretching, and some bending. Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopies, telephone, and other equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate information to patients and team members. Normal but fast-paced work environment.
