    Boston, MA - Medical Technologist II, Chemistry Lab

    Schedule: Full Time, 40 Hours, Days/Rotating Weekends

    In this role, under the general direction of the Chemistry Manager, you will provide essential support for clinical activities through the performance and interpretation of moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory tests according to CLIA '88 standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform and interpret moderate to high complexity tests after specialized training.
    • Act as a resource, interpreting tests for laboratory users.
    • Review testing and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Prioritize STAT and routine samples, ensuring accurate specimen identification and labeling.
    • Ensure appropriateness of samples for testing, obtaining approval for deviations from standard procedures.
    • Perform instrument and equipment maintenance, recognizing and addressing issues promptly.
    • Maintain accurate records of test performance and documentation.
    • Participate in Quality Advancement/Quality Improvement activities.
    • Support education and training initiatives for students and staff.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science.
    • Experience required with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry: two years in a clinical laboratory.
    • Experience required with a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science: one year in a clinical laboratory.
    • Knowledge of clinical tests and standards under CLIA '88.
    • Analytic abilities for highly complex testing and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Manual/visual dexterity for specimen preparation and operating computer software.
    • Interpersonal and English verbal and written language skills.
    • Ability to perform venipuncture techniques.

    This position involves maintaining open communication, adhering to safety procedures, and performing other duties as assigned.
