    Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
    • 7 years of experience in business development or partner management.
    • Experience in payments or the financial technology industry.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • MBA or JD.
    • Experience in retail banking/card businesses or online commerce.
    • Ability to negotiate and structure agreements, including complex agreements, interpret legal documents, and work with legal to sign and close agreements.
    • Ability to grasp complex technical and product concepts, understand and drive our products, and the broader ecosystem.
    • Ability to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative, and ambiguous start-up like environment.
    • Excellent people management and communication skills to articulate business, financial and other points with partners as well as internal teams.

    As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management.

    You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.


    Our team provides meaningful solutions, from helping partners grow their businesses through business generation solutions, to helping our long-term partners anticipate and navigate change in a way that delivers economic value.

    We build and distribute products through partnerships across a multitude of product areas, including Ads, Search and Assistant, Geo, Platforms and Ecosystems, Devices and Services, Health, Retail, Payments, and more.

    We collaborate across Google, ensuring a coordinated approach when engaging with our strategic partners.

    The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners.

    Google's Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business.

    The Global Partnerships team supports Google's own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google's user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more.

    Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

    The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

    Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

    Responsibilities


    • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to establish our strategy for key financial institutions/Payment Service Providers and merchants.
    • Negotiate and execute complex agreements that factor data rights, regulatory obligations and technical requirements. Collaborate with key cross-functional and cross-Google stakeholders to represent business and technical trade-offs.
    • Manage a set of partners and drive growth initiatives required to meet our Product Areas Monthly Active Users and related objectives.
    • Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships at the C-level. Understand scope of partners' commercial and product needs, provide partner feedback internally to help inform Product decisions and roadmaps.
    • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop commercial/business models with a focus on future business initiatives and drive presentations and recommendations to leadership around key business performance indicators, as well as technology trends and dynamics.
