Job summary

We're representing a well-established General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality ground-up commercial projects across the Midwest. They are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee multiple new builds throughout the greater Chicago area.

Responsibilities

• Manage 5–10 active ground-up commercial projects within the Chicago region.
• Oversee site superintendents and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Conduct weekly site visits, assess progress, and prepare comprehensive project reports.
• Coordinate all project logistics, materials, and schedules with vendors and subcontractors.
• Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling from pre-construction to final turnover.
• Resolve field issues promptly while maintaining client satisfaction and jobsite productivity.
• Collaborate with leadership and internal teams to forecast project timelines and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years' experience managing ground-up commercial builds (e.g., retail, office, mixed-use).
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, site logistics, and subcontractor coordination.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally to active project sites.
