- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Must pass background examinations (included with training)
- Must be able to be in the water for a minimum of a three hour shift in a warm and humid environment
- Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
- Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
- Evaluates students progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner
- Interacts professionally with parents/guardians after each swim lesson on the activities and development of students swim skills
- Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
- Assists with setting up the pool prior to lessons and cleaning up after lessons including proper storage of all pool equipment and lane lines
- Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
- No experience necessary. This is a great first job and part time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider a plus
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certifications courses in our facility which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
