    South Dakota Mines is seeking a Residence Hall Director in the Residence Life office. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefited, live-on position.

    The Residence Hall Director (RHD) serves as a core member of the Residence Life staff and is primarily responsible for one to two residential communities and the fostering of community and belonging.


    The RHD fosters the interpersonal and intrapersonal growth of residential students; develops a positive and open residential community; supervises student staff; and manages main administrative functions and residential facility needs.


    The RHD focuses their time and effort on their students and student staff by providing resources and opportunities, crisis intervention, community standards administration, student staff training and supervision, housing occupancy support, and facilities management.

    This position will also work on departmental and university-wide initiatives.

    A bachelor's degree is required. A degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, business administration, communication, criminal justice, or hospitality management is preferred. At least one year of experience working in housing or with adult learners is preferred.
