    Role Overview

    This position is the base role for experienced nurses, responsible for providing independent care within a clinical specialty and collaborating effectively within the interdisciplinary team.

    Main Responsibilities

    Deliver independent care to specific patient populations, act as a clinical resource, and participate in unit-specific roles like charge nurse. Collaborate with the team to address patient needs.

    • Accountable for patient care processes and outcomes during treatment
    • Contribute to group practice advancement and nursing quality

    Service Excellence

    • Aid in team development and patient care evaluation
    • Collect data for outcome analysis and partake in quality improvement initiatives
    • Ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements

    Unit Operations

    • Support charge nurse decisions and interdisciplinary communication
    • Contribute to protocol development and shared governance activities
    • Participate in council developments and education initiatives

    Professional Growth

    • Act as a mentor for new staff and students
    • Engage in peer review processes and seek continuous development

    Requirements

    • Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland, or eligible through Compact state agreements
    • Associate degree required, BSN preferred
    • Minimum one year of nursing experience, CPR certification, and ongoing education
    • Membership in a professional organization and relevant clinical experience
