- Define the vision for the backend infrastructure supporting our developer platform and APIs
- Design, construct, and maintain highly scalable and reliable infrastructure, APIs, and services
- Lead system design discussions, stand-up meetings, and code reviews
- Establish best practices for backend infrastructure focusing on high throughput and reliability
- Troubleshoot production issues across services and stack levels
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Proficiency in designing and scaling core backend software components
- Problem-solving abilities in high-throughput, low-latency systems
- Hands-on experience with Java, Golang, or C++ in a production environment
- Familiarity with Cloud Native environments, especially AWS
- Experience with managed Kubernetes layers like AWS EKS is advantageous
- Self-driven mindset with a knack for implementing new ideas independently
- Ability to strike a balance between perfection and speed in delivery
- Background in founding a company or executing side projects is beneficial
- Experience in startup environments is a plus
