- All fundraising efforts, which include: annual appeals, capital campaigns, endowment campaigns, grant writing, planned giving efforts, business development, sponsorships, foundations, and in-kind donations. A minimum of 50% of time should be spent on this work
- Identify, cultivate and solicit major gift prospects of $10,000+ and maintain and manage a major gift portfolio of prospects.
- Develop strategies and oversee the implementation of all advancement vehicles and activities
- Collaboratively develop and supervise the integration and execution of special event programs that are consistent with the goals, strategies and objectives of the institutional advancement plan
- Facilitate and coordinate foundation/corporation cultivation, research, and proposals
- Develop and manage cultivation strategies and programs with particular emphasis on alumni development
- Strategic marketing plan that includes public relations, marketing strategies, and collateral materials;
- Develops, implements, and oversees a comprehensive communications program with all constituents
- Directs and supports the work of the Director of Advancement to ensure the annual budgeted Advancement revenue is raised.
- Coordinates the school and constituency promotion of the EITC program
- Donor database management and IRS compatibility
- Administer, manage and monitor all database functions
- Hold responsibility for the accuracy of all contributions and pledges input into the database
- Hold responsibility for authorizing pledge write-offs
- Facilitate the receipt of donor-restricted funds and insure implementation according to donor's wishes and assist donors with knowledgeable advice pertaining to current Internal Revenue Service rulings as appropriate.
- Lead, supervise and annually evaluate the performance of the various staff within the advancement/development office
- In collaboration with the Principal, Business Manager, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors, assists in the development of an overall strategic financial plan for the school, including short- and long-term plans, and assists in the annual budget process.
- Oversees and approves expenditures of funds according to the budget set by the Principal and Board of Directors.
- Directs the financial aid program, communicating with potential applicants timely and clearly.
- Oversees the collection of all outstanding funds due to the school.
- Presents a financial report annually to the Board of Directors, a copy of which shall be filed with the minutes of the annual meeting.
- Broad-based skills in all areas of development including direct mail, annual membership programs and donor stewardship

- Ability to establish cooperative, tactful, effective and harmonious working relationships with a diverse group of individuals, ranging from senior management, administration, board members, corporate leaders, faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers and the general public.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in communications, finance, and/or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a comparable field with five to eight years' experience in a comparable position.
- Experience in Development, non-profit executive management, particularly in relation to financial oversight and fundraising preferred.
- Experience running direct mail and advertising campaigns for planned giving
- Continuing education is required to maintain knowledge of tax codes affecting charitable giving and maintain a level of knowledge and skills required to serve as a parish/school Development of Director. This is accomplished by reading material related to the profession, by attending workshops or conventions, and by participating in local, regional and diocesan professional organizations, as approved and as appropriate.
- This position requires specific knowledge of the Catholic Church organization and procedures or experience in a complex multi-unit organization (preferably nonprofit) with a service orientation.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.
- Position requires a valid driver's license.
- Bilingual in Spanish may be desirable in some geographical locations.

NATURE OF POSITION
The Senior Director of Advancement must demonstrate a love for young people and a commitment to Catholic education. Within the context of the school's mission statement and policies of the Board of Trustees, the Director administers, strategizes and coordinates the school's advancement program, which raises restricted and unrestricted gifts to maintain and enhance the current and future stability of the school. They must provide leadership in all fund development efforts; initiate innovative approaches to building the school's donor constituency; and help to create an environment for philanthropy to flourish. The Director must exhibit broad, creative and strategic thinking. The Director of Advancement must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an exceptional ability to build relationships.
Reporting Function - As a member of the senior leadership team the director reports directly to the Principal.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. Lifts and moves items up to 20 pounds.
