Heartland Behavioral Health Services has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both as well as for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a. All of our programs have been designed and tailored to help our patients grow and prosper.

Heartland is nestled within 50 secluded acres in Nevada, Missouri, providing the perfect rural area setting for our residents to heal and grow. A reprieve from everyday life, our peaceful environment allows residents to return to the basics and reconnect with themselves and others. The Behavioral Health Specialist performs direct patient care duties and services under the direct supervision of the unit charge nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Utilize the treatment plan in determining and reinforcing interventions with individual patients.
• Assists with patient trips outside the facility.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer of patients.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED. Some previous college courses in related field preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be able to complete CPR and Crisis Management certification
• Prefer one year experience dealing with emotionally-disturbed or chemically-dependent individuals.
• Legible handwriting and ability to construct grammatically correct sentence structure.
