    Restek is offering the opportunity for the right candidate to gain valuable experience in a manufacturing setting where we make and sell chromatography consumables to a global market. The position will fill a need in creating Material Specifications, controlled documents detailing the characteristics and specific requirements of purchased items. During this process you will be interfacing with Suppliers, Engineering, QS Engineers, Procurement, and Inspection to identify the material specifications and then creating a controlled document in our QS Management platform. This is a paid full-time internship.

    Job Duties:

    1. Working from a provided, prioritized list, research existing information on a given part including historic inspection records and supplier provided information.

    2. In collaboration with Quality, Engineering and Procurement, determine appropriate details needed for future purchases and inspections and translate into a Material Specification.

    3. Communicate directly or via Procurement with suppliers as needed to confirm alignment of expectations and to attain any additional needed information.

    4. Process new documents through the Controlled Document Management System and communicate completed documents to applicable functions.

    5. Develop understanding of similar parts to allow for more independent construction of Material Specifications.

    Qualifications:

    Education and projected career path in a data-driven role such as Quality, Procurement, Business, Engineering or Science.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Attention to detail.
    • Communication, strong oral and written skill sets
    • Comfortable with computers and can quickly pick up on our ERP and Quality Systems interfaces.
    • Moderate skills with Microsoft office, especially Word and Excel
    • Research, investigative mindset.
    • Ability to work independently but knows when to ask questions.
