    Description

    Position Summary:

    Act as part of the medical services team providing prenatal and reproductive health care according to PPHP protocol and operational process as directed by the Chief Medical Officer and/or Associate Medical Director.

    In addition, serves as the Clinical Director for the affiliate's Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Program and the coordination of.

    Secure a complete health history, including obstetric, gynecologic, gender identity, sexual behaviors, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family health, and psychosocial, and record findings accurately and succinctly.

    Participate in the direct provision of all medical services including but not limited to gender affirming hormone therapy, family planning, abortion, prenatal, colposcopy, STD and infertility services on a scheduled basis.

    Perform physical examinations with special emphasis on the reproductive system, including breast examination, pelvic examination, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other types of more specialized procedures as may be indicated by medical policy.

    5 patient encounters per hour.
    Oversee Gender Affirming Care service at PPHP and ensure compliance with the Medical Services and Guidelines
    Be available for provider questions and consults for complicated cases regarding Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy

    Make updates to Medical Standards and Guidelines and PPHP practice protocols in accordance with latest evidence for gender affirming care.

    Perform, orders, and interprets diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols

    • Consult with Chief Medical Officer or Senior Vice President Patient Services and Operations to ensure compliance with medical protocols.
    • Provides clinical input and contribution for the revision and implementation of PPHP's clinical policies, protocols and procedures in accordance with PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines, the New York State Department of Health, Title X, and any other relevant regulatory body.
    • In collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and other key patient services management staff, participates in the planning and evaluation of PPHP's health services and programs.
    Provides direct patient care services in the following areas on a scheduled basis:
    gender affirming hormone therapy, prenatal care, family planning and medication abortion services. If qualified will provide surgical abortion, colposcopy, cryotherapy, LEEP and ambulatory gynecology.

    • Provide relevant health instruction to include family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance.
    • In the absence of the Medical Laboratory Director, act as the Laboratory Supervisor.
    • Collaborate with the health team and other community agencies and resources (e.g., physicians, local health departments, social service, nutritionists, dentists, and parent education groups), through joint planning and coordination of activities, in providing comprehensive care.
