    ducation/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering
    • GFSI standards experience such as SQF, BRC, IFS, or FS 22000 Certifications preferred: PCQI, HACCP
    • 5+ years of experience supervising a team in quality in a Food & Beverage manufacturing environment

    Summary:
    Ensure food safety and quality of all products produced in the plant. Ensure specifications are defined and communicated.

    Perform inspections of processes, employee training, compliance with applicable food laws and regulations, and maintain plant HACCP plans to regulatory compliance.

    Establish best lab practices and provide guidance and adherence to quality policies.

    You will participate in resolving customer complaints, be a part of the plant leadership team and provide support to Sales, R&D, and Operations on customer issues and questions.

    Comply with all company safety policies and procedures and comply with all OSHA rules and regulations.
    Ensure all plant personnel follow good manufacturing practices including proper waste disposal, personal hygiene, and personal practices.
    Work with Operations and Maintenance to promote Food Safety and Quality ownership on the floor
    Train and develop team members in the performance of their tasks
    Manage Plant timelines and milestones for the Food Safety and Quality Improvement Plan and other food safety/quality metrics
    Analyze and communicate quality and food safety issues, and consumer complaints, and initiate applicable corrective measures
    Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agency requirements
    Liaison with local USDA and FDA inspectors and any other food regulatory officers who visit the plant
    Provide leadership for compliance to food safety and quality programs Implements and maintains quality programs.
    Maintain SQF certification; specifications for raw and finished materials; recall program; environmental monitoring program; and comprehensive pest control program.
    Develop corrective action when Food Safety or Quality deficiency is identified.
    Liaison for all technical and QC issues between operations, RQI, and sales/marketing departments
    Provide Corporate with quality assurance assistance involving vendor issues, both improvements and corrective measures
    Oversee product quality regarding new product implementation and introduction into the market.
    Use continuous improvement tools to identify opportunities and develop improvement plans.
