    This newly created opportunity has a company full of well established and key members of the College Station community. This organization has the backing and funding of the US government contracts to fulfill orders. The Procurement Specialist will play a vital role in acquiring goods and services. You will be responsible building/managing vendor relationships.


    Responsibilities:

    Procurement Management:
    Plan, initiate, and oversee procurement processes for goods, services, and contracts according to FAR and DoD regulations.
    Evaluate requirements, select appropriate procurement methods, and execute the procurement process from start to finish.


    FAR and DoD Compliance:
    Ensure strict adherence to FAR, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other relevant federal and DoD procurement guidelines.
    Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust procurement processes as necessary.


    Vendor Selection and Evaluation:
    Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, contractors, and vendors based on FAR and DoD compliance, performance history, and cost-effectiveness.
    Conduct due diligence to assess vendor capabilities and qualifications.


    Negotiation and Contracting:
    Lead negotiations with suppliers or contractors to secure favorable terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
    Draft, review, and manage contracts, purchase orders, and other procurement-related documents.


    Cost Analysis:
    Analyze cost proposals, cost structures, and pricing data to ensure cost reasonableness and compliance with regulations.
    Conduct cost-benefit analyses for procurement decisions.


    Quality and Performance Monitoring:
    Monitor supplier or contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
    Address performance issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.


    Risk Management:
    Identify and mitigate potential procurement risks and issues.
    Develop and maintain risk management plans and strategies.


    Reporting and Documentation:
    Maintain accurate and detailed procurement records, including documentation of negotiations, communications, and contract modifications.
    Prepare reports and summaries for management and regulatory compliance purposes.

    Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

    Advanced degrees or certifications related to procurement and contracting (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management, Certified Federal Contracts Manager) are a plus.

    Extensive experience in procurement, specifically in a federal or DoD setting.
    Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DoD procurement regulations.
    Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
    Exceptional negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    Analytical and critical thinking abilities for cost analysis and risk management.
