- Foster and develop innovative, transformational solutions to sensing challenges and capability gaps.
- Evaluate radar technologies, identify risks, and develop alternate solutions.
- Perform system and sub-system level test.
- Conduct experiments/data collections.
- Design and prototype radar algorithms and radar signal processing solutions.
- Model system and sub-system behavior.
- Identify technology gaps and their solutions for insertion into both fielded and developmental systems.
- Participate in MITRE Labs' presence in peer reviewed publications, patent submissions, and external conferences/workshops.
- Support the demand for MITRE's radar/sensor expertise through partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, sponsors, and end-users.
- Support proposal development efforts to expand our work program into new areas.
- Engage in personal career and technical growth as well as the growth of others through mentoring, training, and collaboration
- Minimum BS with 5 years or more years of radar engineering, or other relevant experience.
- Demonstrated broad and deep understanding of radar technologies and methods.
- Experience performing design engineering and testing for engineering or physics applications.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively use programming environments such as MATLAB or Python to develop engineering models and analyze data.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts simply and concisely, making needed connections, and bridging across domains as appropriate.
- Proven experience fostering collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly in technical terms with both the engineering staff and senior sponsor leadership.
- Strong writing and briefing skills.
- Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Top Secret security clearance
- PhD in electrical engineering, math or physics.
- Experience performing design engineering, test, and field work for radar systems.
- Radar modeling and data analysis experience.
- Technical depth in RF design, antennas/electromagnetics, or radar EW.
- Knowledge of non-radar sensing modalities.
