    Ellsworth Corporation, a global, industry leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer currently has an Associate Strategic Buyer opportunity with our Glue Dot International (GDI) division. This role is located in Germantown, WI. This is a hybrid position.

    Summary

    Purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms. Negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information.

    Responsibilities

    • Negotiates costs for assigned products, supplies and services
    • Maintains Supplier information in the ERP system
    • Partners with assigned Suppliers to develop Annual Strategic Plans to improve efficiencies
    • Develops and maintains relationships with contacts at Suppliers to facilitate prompt resolution of issues (expedites, sales and customer service questions / concerns, customer specifications, product conformity, logistics, etc,)
    • Communicates Supplier information regarding product and quality notifications across the Company
    • Reviews inventory levels for assigned products to provide optimal material availability
    • Adjusts stocking levels of product by reviewing shelf life to ensure minimal scrap
    • Negotiates with Suppliers regarding Return Material Authorizations and Credit Memos
    • Develops forecasts of product to ensure correct product mix and product levels as business fluctuates
    • Reviews trends within assigned product lines to help minimize (RMAs, discrepancies, scrap, etc.)
    • Partners with Quality to resolve all CARs and SCARs and works with Suppliers to resolve scorecard issues
    Experience
    • 1+ years of experience in purchasing or related Field
    Education
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in Supply Chain, Finance or related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent
    • Certifications, Business Licenses, Registrations, Other
    Other Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong negotiating skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards
    • Good computer skills with MS Office applications, ERP, etc.
    • Demonstrated potential to quickly learn and adapt
