ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prior experience in US Navy as a Senior Sonar Operator or Supervisor for at least ten (10) years, reaching the ranks of Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief, or as an officer with significant ASW experience
Active or in-active DoD Security Clearance of minimum Secret level

Are you a Subject Matter Expert looking for a new challenge? DAS is in search of a senior-level professional to join our team for the Synthetic Scenario Generation Trainer Scenario Controls program.

The ideal candidate will be involved in projects related to Trainer Scenario Controller for different Naval Combat Training Systems for our client at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, MD.

You'll be responsible for various scientific, engineering, and technical services essential for the creation, development, integration, testing, fleet implementation, and maintenance of Trainer Scenario Controls used in Synthetic Scenario Generation training simulation systems.

This role provides the opportunity to be at the forefront of Navy Combat System Training Systems.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the software development team throughout the design, development, and testing phases of new capabilities. Moreover, they will work with other experts to ensure that software solutions meet project requirements and will aid in documenting technical and operational aspects.

Main responsibilities will revolve around maintaining and enhancing current capabilities and developing new ones for the Acoustic Instructor Console (AIC) software subsystem, which is used in conjunction with All World Environment Simulation (AWESIM) acoustic simulation and the Periscope Simulation (PSIM) visual simulation for Submarine, Surface Ship, Surveillance, and Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) training systems.

The SME will also travel to different naval training sites to support the setup, testing, and training for new capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide subject matter expertise within the designated systems capability sprints and associated deliverables in collaboration with project leaders
Lead testing activities related to software development from a subject matter perspective
Support the technical writer in creating technical documents and user guides, working closely with developers and project leaders
Act as a pivotal member of the DAS senior management team for all Navy AIC programs while contributing to the company's growth

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ten years of hands-on experience with submarine AN/BQQ-10 sonar systems
Five years of involvement with surface ship AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 or IUSS sonar systems
Candidates should exhibit strong self-motivation, attention to detail, as well as analytical and critical thinking skills
