    Electrical Construction Project Manager

    2. Journeyman's License, preferably MA & RI

    Role

    The Project Manager assists with the planning, directing, coordinating, or budgeting (usually through the VP of Construction) of Estimators and Foremen for activities concerned with construction. Participates in the conceptual development of a construction and service project and oversees its organization, scheduling, and implementation.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction.
    • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
    • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met.
    • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
    • Coordinate with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems.
    • Order or requisition materials or supplies and complete purchase orders.
    • Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
    • Train workers in construction methods, safety procedures, or company policies.
    • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
    • Assist workers engaged in construction or service activities.
    • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
    • Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or hires.
    • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
    • Monitor and control project through the administrative direction of the VP of Construction to ensure the project is completed on schedule and within budget.
    • Investigate potentially serious safety situations and implement corrective measures.
    • Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
    • Work with the VP of Construction and COO to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with customers.
    • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Human Resources and/or Safety Committee Chair.
    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
    • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

    Compensation & Location

    This position will be based out of Westport, MA. This is a full-time position that is available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary, company vehicle with gas card, 401K plan with company match, cell phone, laptop/tablet, and health insurance.
