    Description

    SmartHire is looking for an **Engineering Director** for a **Manufacturing company** in Auburn. The ideal candidate should have at least **5 years** of recent **Management experience** and **7 years** of **Engineering experience** within the **Manufacturing industry**. A **Bachelor's degree** in a related field and solid **Excel skills** are necessary.

    DETAILS

    The **Director of Engineering** is accountable for managing the daily operations of various departments, including product design engineering, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, quality engineering, and technical service. The role involves developing and implementing processes for enhancement and aligning strategic goals to meet or surpass business objectives.

    Function & Responsibilities:

    • - Design, refine, and implement product development, testing, and launch processes
    • - Lead the team in innovating new products, solutions, and processes
    • - Oversee project logistics and resource allocation
    • - Develop project budgets and engage in cost management strategies
    • - Implement systems for continuous improvement
    • - Mentor and coach employees to resolve challenges effectively
    • - Manage daily operations and ensure efficiency
    • - Participate in project management on cross-departmental initiatives
    • - Maintain accurate customer-related records
    • - Adhere to established policies and standards

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • - Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • - Minimum 5 years of Management experience
    • - At least 7 years of Engineering experience in Manufacturing
    • - Advanced MS Excel proficiency
    • - Strong project management skills
    • - Ability to analyze processes and suggest improvements
    • - Excellent communication skills
    • - Familiarity with ERP software and data analysis
    • - Creative problem-solving abilities
    • - Detail-oriented and highly organized

    Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

    • - Travel required (up to 20%) for shows, expos, and customer visits
    • - In-person, in-plant office setting
