    IT Programmer Analyst - Tuscaloosa, United States - DCH Health System

    Description

    Overview

    Serves as a primary professional resource for development related project planning and administration with special focus on reporting, programming, and other data-driven solutions. Responsible for delivering solutions using .NET applications, NPR & MAGIC technologies, or Corepoint Integration Engine/HL7. Provides solutions by evaluating, recommending, configuring, and installing technology to meet complex customer requirements. Project manager for intermediate sized development projects including coordinating other analyst, hardware, software, contracts, and vendors. Participates as a resource on large initiatives to effectively implement systems per department standards.

    Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development, implementation, and planning utilizing technology consistent with customer requirements and department endorsed industry standards, especially those involving advanced technology and/or development.
  • Design, architect, build, test, and deploy intermediate ETL, reporting, dashboards, and web applications using one or more of the following:
  • Crystal Reports, SQL Server, & / C#
  • NPR / Magic
  • Corepoint / HL7
  • Expertise in understanding complex data structures and the ability to create and maintain data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, database schemas, ERD's, and other programming & data structure documentation
  • Knowledge of web service consumption and web design technology preferred.
  • Requirements gathering and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Formal educational background in either Management Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
  • Develops new programs of intermediate complexity and scope, working with basic application system design practices (SDLC) often serving as overall project manager through all phases.
  • Acquires clinical healthcare knowledge on processes and department functions across various areas of the enterprise to the extent required by position and projects.
  • Develops and implements cost savings and performance improvement processes.
  • Participates in on-call coverage when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or assume additional responsibilities as required
  • DCH Standards:

  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS/CIS & IT development experience preferred OR high school diploma or GED with relevant minimum 3 years IT development or healthcare-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
  • SQL Server (version 2012 or higher) database development experience including stored procedures, views, indexing, and functions
  • NPR/MAGIC experience including expertise in Meditech's data structure
  • Corepoint Integration Engine & HL7 experience
  • using C#
  • Certifications or training in one or more of the following is preferred:
  • Microsoft .NET and SQL Server
  • NPR/Magic
  • Corepoint Integration Engine & HL7
  • Prior Healthcare experience is not required but preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make formal presentations required.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced or expert skills in the following:
  • Skill in systems analysis, systems design techniques, project management, financial and clinical applications preferred.
  • Working with and maintaining large datasets preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
